With room for a radiator of upto 360mm in the top of the chassis, an additional radiator of up to 280mm in the bottom and of course not forgetting that we were able to install a large closed loop water cooling block in the rear of the chassis. The cooling capabilities of this chassis are nearly unmatched and there are very few designs on the market that offer as much flexibility as the Phantom 820. Unless of course you need a more complete range of card reading slots it eliminates the need for an additional card reader. It may only be a minor addition, but with many digital cameras, e-books and other devices using SD cards it’s likely going to get good use from people who buy this chassis. The inclusion of a SD card reader is also welcome. It all but removes the need for after market lighting systems, freeing up space within the chassis and saving you from having to hide any additional cables that custom chassis lights normally require. Of course it takes a little more than just putting the two together and NZXT have gone that little bit further with features like the HUE lighting system really raising the bar in terms of how customisable the chassis is and its overall style. It makes sense that NZXT would want to combine what made each of those chassis so great in the first place, with the smooth stylings of the Phantom and the Switch being combined throughout, as well as all the best functional features from two chassis being incorporated into the Phantom 820. :)Īll in all, it seems to be a good, well built case but it does cost more than it should.NZXT have already delivered on some of the most popular chassis on the market with their Phantom 410 and the Switch 810, both of which I’m a big fan of. but I've seen a lot of PC's with broken doors so hard for me to judge on that aspect. Controlling via software or BIOS and being able to set profiles and curves is usually a better option. I've never encountered any fan controller issues, though most people completely bypass case controllers anyways. The filters are definitely better than the plastic sheets that come in some cheap cases, if that is what you are asking. It does help but not as much as you'd want it to. The included fans are rather mediocre so be sure to pick up some decent fans (I wouldn't ding it though because almost all cases have mediocre stock fans).ĭust filters will not keep a PC dust free. Don't worry on short attention span I've got it too, drives my wife crazy On a side note, will the larger video cards fit easily? example SAPPHIRE NITRO R9 390 8G which is 318mm (i think) According to pcpartpicker it will fit, but does it fit well or does it fit but i am not getting anything else in there without modding the case?Ĭorsair spec-02 midtower case(not a lot of room) ive read a lot of reviews and this seems to be a common theme. Are the fans as bad as some of the reviews ive read on amazon and newegg? Or are the reviewers looking for more then a basic fan will provide? How have the dust filters worked out? kept the inside reasonably dust free? has the fan controller and LED hue controler held up? Has the front door hinge held up to use ? Before anyone responds, i know its big, i know its heavy. Any one have one of these? im really interested in hearing from someone who has had this case for awhile.
